Northern Lights of Christmas

Seattle-based commercial pilot Zoey Hathaway has always wanted to operate her own charter company. In the lead up to Christmas, she believes she is one step closer to her dream as she heads to her hometown of Aurora, Alaska to deal with the estate of her mentor Gus, who taught her how to fly and who has left his ranch to her, it which she plans to sell to add to her airplane purchase fund. Although she only plans to stay a few days in Aurora before joining her parents in Florida, where they live, for the holidays, her plans change as Alec Wynn, the quiet young man who has acted as the caretaker of the ranch, including feeding the two resident reindeer, Holly and Palmer, gives her his notice in no longer feeling invested in the property, Zoey needing someone to care for it until it can be sold which probably won't happen until the spring. Zoey is able to convince Alec to stay temporarily in giving him some emotional and financial investment in the sale, the former, more important to him, including approving of whoever the new owners who he wants to keep in the spirit of Gus' vision for the property. To place the property in its best light for sale, Zoey is also able to convince Alec, and most of the townsfolk for that matter, to resurrect the Christmas Festival that Gus had previously hosted on the property every year. That emotional investment of both Zoey and Alec may provide them both with a path to their future in a holistic manner.
