Plot:
The year is 2009 and Minister of Culture Lena Adelsohn Liljeroth storms out of the Market art fair in Stockholm. The reason: "Territorial pissing", a two-minute film in which a man dressed in black, armed with a spray can, goes on a rampage in a subway car. The work was Magnus "NUG" Gustafsson's thesis from Konstfack and the debate about art versus vandalism raged for weeks afterwards. Long before that, NUG was a legend among graffiti painters but was, after the Minister of Culture's statement, considered a fascinating provocateur and one of Sweden's hottest artist names. With the help of stories from painters, ministers, art dealers, falcons and art historians, NUG - Vandal in Motion not only tells the story of the artist NUG but also takes a firm grip on the debate about urban and public art in general.
