Yannis, a young soldier serving as a minesweeper in remote, meandering Evros River, Greece, is rumoured to have the eerie and inexplicable ability to detect and disarm the explosive landmines. In the meantime, Chrysa, a desperate mother of one, facilitates safe passage for illegal immigrants at night, having no other way to make a living and provide for her family.
