Without "Pilote", no Asterix, Tanguy and Laverdure, Petit Nicolas, Blueberry, Achille Talon, Valerian, Rubrique-a-Brac, Masked Cucumber, Grand Duduche or Philemon. This comics magazine, born in 1959, was, under the instigation of Rene Goscinny, Albert Uderzo and Jean-Michel Charlier, the crucible of modern comics. A weekly reference magazine for the baby boomer generation, "Pilote" is also an offbeat and humorous reflection of the Glorious Thirty Years period. Over the years, the magazine has accompanied its readers from childhood to adolescence and then into adulthood. Achille Talon recounts fifty years of a grandiose epic.
