Reality Bites: A Hannah Swensen Mystery

Chad and Lonnie are preparing for the Lloyd Chassley trial. While there is enough concrete evidence tying Chassley to one of the home break-in robberies of high end jewelry, Chad wants to nail him on all thirteen such cases for which Chassley is suspected of being the perpetrator. Concurrently, Hannah receives a last minute request for her favorite television show, the Los Angeles based nationally syndicated Connie Mac Show, a baking show starring the titular pastry chef, to film at the Cookie Jar, Hannah gladly agreeing in excited to meet her idol. In the process, Hannah finds that what she sees on television and the reality of Connie are two totally different things. Subsequently, Hannah discovers a dead body at the bakery of someone associated to the show, it eventually determined to be murder. Beyond the official investigation, Hannah, with Delores, Michelle and Norman by her side, can't help but investigate herself, especially with all the free time she has on her hands in the bakery being behind police tape in being a crime scene. But with that request to film at the Cookie Jar being as last minute as it was and with certain information coming to light, Hannah can't help but wonder if the show coming to Lake Eden of all places was not meant to coincide with the Chassley trial.
