Before I Wake

April returns home to England after attending university for four years, when learning of her father's death. Her mother died three years previously, and her father married her mother's nurse, whom she comes to suspect of murdering both of her parents when circumstances and her explanations are questionable and out of character. She begins to fear for her life, because if she dies before her birthday in a few weeks, her stepmother will inherit everything.
