Tales of Ordinary Madness

Overwhelmed by the meaninglessness of his existence, Charles Serking, a touring poet sinking into vice and cheap booze, abandons his work and descends into the seedy underworld of Los Angeles, the city of lost angels. There, Charles tries to blend in with a shady world of criminals, sex workers, and heavy drinkers. But loneliness is a beast. In search of love, he wanders through the city's pubs and dive bars until he meets Cass, a troubled young prostitute. This fateful encounter inspires him to resume his writing career, and for the first time in a long while, Charles feels something stirring inside him. However, his volatile relationship with the most alive woman he has ever met is hopeless; their mutual tendency toward self-destruction leaves no room for errors--or true love.
