Storyline
The story of Johann Strauss the elder and younger. Senior thinks little of Junior's musical abilities while Junior is torn between baker's daughter Resi and countess Helga who both contribute to his composing the famous "Blue Danube".
In the end of the Nineteenth Century, in Vienna, the handsome aspiring musician Schani Johann Strauss, who is the estranged son of the famous maestro Johann Strauss Sr., and his girlfriend Resi Ebezeder, who is daughter of Ebezeder that owns a traditional bakery and cafe, are in deep love for each other. When there is a fire in the bakery, Resi loses her skirt and runs to a nearby shop to get another one. Schani runs after her and meets Countess Helga von Stahl, who is married to Prince Gustav. The countess becomes interested in the music of Schani and he becomes her protegee. However, the jealous Resi is suspicious of her true intentions. Schani composes the "Blue Danube" waltz with the support of Reise and the countess, but his father despises his music and humiliates him. But soon the countess and her publisher Anton Drexler plots a scheme to help Schani without his acknowledgment to promote his waltz.
