Sugar & Vice: A Hannah Swensen Mystery

The Cookie Jar has been hired to do the dessert catering for a masquerade ball to mark the reopening of the renovated Lake Eden Inn + Spa, the ball to take place before the renovations are completed and the desserts which are solely to be handheld, meaning a selection of cookies. Hannah faces two issues with the job. First, she is allowed to come in costume, which she does not want to do but is ultimately convinced by Delores for her and Chad to dress as a couple as Delores is doing with boyfriend Ron i.e. Sheriff Ealing. And second, she deals with a number of inn liaisons, she unsure whose direction she is ultimately to take, especially if those directions are different. During the proceedings, Hannah and Lisa come across a murdered dead body in a restricted area, the victim one of those with whom Hannah was liaising, with the two informing Ron and Chad to investigate in their official law enforcement capacities. However, a storm has physically cut off the inn from the rest of the world this evening, meaning that no one can leave and no one can come in, including Ron's investigators. As such, the four have to investigate on their own while not telling anyone else at the ball not only that a murder has just occurred at the inn but that the unknown murderer is still in their midst.
