Plot Storyline

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya is the only one running against Lukashenko in the 2020 Belarusian election. When Lukashenko declares a victory of 80% questions regarding the fairness of the election are being raised.

When Svetlana Tichanovskaya was allowed to stand in the presidential election in Russia-friendly Belarus in 2020, she was seen as having no chance. But she unexpectedly received more votes than the incumbent president and was forced out of the country. Now she leads the fight for a democratic Belarus in exile, while her husband is a political prisoner in a Belarusian prison.
