Plot Storyline

The story of the airship USS Macon, tracing the history of airships and detailing the disaster that befell the Macon.

In the 1930s the airship "USS Macon" was built by the US Navy as one of two flying aircraft carriers. But "USS Macon" ran into a storm, crashed and sank. For over 70 years the airship was untouched on the seabed. This documentary reconstructs the story of the flying aircraft carrier, including sensational ROV pictures of the wreck.
