The Hangman Can't Wait

Wartime Prague... The last scenes of a cabaret operetta are being filmed at Barrandov film studio when word spreads that the main star, Karla Hlinova, has been arrested by the Gestapo. Fear, dismay and apprehension reign, but producer Stanislav Dragant knows what to do. He uses his connections and Karla is released the next day - filming can continue. However, the well-known actress cannot shake the terrible feeling that she is being watched and that more Nazi action will follow, even though Dragant and his friend, a German businessman Planetta, repeatedly assure her otherwise.
