The Heart of the World

With only one short day before the end of the world, against the backdrop of an ailing Earth, conflicted Anna, a state scientist studying the planet's core, finds herself torn between duty and desire. Then, while haunted by the forbidden passion for two brothers--Nikolai, an undertaker, and Osip, an actor playing Jesus Christ in a Passion Play--Anna has a chance encounter with hideous industrialist Akmatov, a corrupt plutocrat blind with lust.
