Plot
Storyline
In rural Ireland, a quiet, neglected girl is sent away from her dysfunctional family to live with relatives for the summer where she blossoms and learns what it is to be loved.
County Waterford, Ireland, 1981. With her exhausted mother of five expecting yet another baby, neglected nine-year-old Cait leaves her impoverished home to live with her childless distant relatives, Eibhlin and her husband Sean, for the summer. And as the warm and caring foster parents take the withdrawn child in to lighten the load of the family, a minor miracle happens: as the mild Irish summer progresses, Cait starts to blossom under their care after experiencing affection for the first time. After all, we all seek kindness and love to thrive in this cruel world. But what does the future have in store for the quiet girl?
