Plot
Storyline
Gossip, snobbery, mistrust, divorce and a mail-order engagement dominate the lives of the British upper class living in the plantation colonies of Southeast Asia.
A snobbish doctor in the tropics sends for a former nurse associate from England to marry him. But he is a changed man. He seeks fame through medicine and neglects his wife for his work. A returning plantation owner with a sullied reputation lures the woman away from her husband.
