The Song to My Heart

The daughter of famed and now widowed and largely retired musician/songwriter Hank Highstreet, Bonnie Highstreet grew up on the road in her parents taking her on their gigs. A poet who inherited such genes from her mother, Bonnie has long run away from a previous dream to become a songwriter to open an organic tea shop, Highstreet Teas, with her best friend, Emmie, their week-long launch including a media tasting as a promotion. One of their first customers is aspiring musician Ryder Jamison, who specifically came looking for his songwriting idol Hank in needing some help specifically on the lyrics side as he, self-admitting that he was never a great lyricist, has writer's block and imminently needs eight original songs for an upcoming recording. Hank, admitting the same in Bonnie's mother having been the lyricist between the two, points him in Bonnie's direction, she who reluctantly agrees to help him get some writing inspiration in he, in return, agreeing to help in a key aspect of the tea shop launch. In Bonnie and Ryder spending time together, they start to fall for each other, especially in Ryder's further admission that he ultimately wants a life not on the road but in a small town like theirs with a family. But Ryder and Bonnie's road to a happy ending may hit some bumps if Ryder is the cause for the feelings reemerging that made Bonnie run away from the songwriting in the first place.
