Karen and Markus live with their children in Karen's parents' house. Karen's sister Jule arrives with her husband Jurek and their daughter for Markus' birthday party. While Karen's domineering manner leaves everyone feeling suffocated, Jule is the complete opposite: relaxed, lively and freedom-loving. She has hated this house ever since she was a child.
