The Suns of Easter Island

Six strangers from around the world—a scientist, researchers, a Macumba priest, and a young psychic woman—experience the same mysterious visions and receive strange pearl-like discs in their hands. Drawn by an unknown force, they travel to Easter Island, where they learn they have been chosen to witness a rare cosmic event: the return of energy-based extraterrestrial beings known as the "Suns," who attempt contact with humanity every 500 years. After examining the minds of the gathered humans and seeing humanity's violence and suffering, the extraterrestrials decide once again not to make contact. The visitors return home, while Alain, a French psychologist, remains behind as the island's new guardian, waiting for the next cosmic encounter in five centuries.
