Plot
Storyline
Adele is haunted by the death of her husband, Jean, who was killed in a trench during World War I. Desperate and unable to face this tragic loss, she turns to black magic in the hope of bringing her lover back.
The French countryside, 1914. With the Great War ravaging France, young patriot Jean leaves his beloved Adele behind to do his part. But war is a beast; there is no guarantee of a safe return. As intense nightmares haunt her sleep and indecipherable visions manipulate reality, Adele sinks deeper and deeper into uncertainty and despair until a forbidden discovery offers her enlightenment. Somewhere in the gloomy woods, occult secrets reveal the path to unlock eternal life, but at a steep price. Now, the thing behind the door is real. And blood is the least it demands.
