The short leaves no doubt as to the part coal has played in the progress of our nation. The account carries profound interest and an educational worth that is considerable, covering the ground comprehensively for a two-reeler. The picture, produced commendably by Frederic Ullman, Jr., and directed and photographed with high skill by William Deeke, shows how coal is mined and pictures the many uses to which the black treasure is put. Most persons will learn things about coal they never knew before. Oviatt McConnell did a noteworthy writing job.
