Plot Storyline

An unreliable lover of women and a hunchbacked clockmaker are suspected of killing a beautiful woman. Only one of them has done it, but whom?

Max and Grete's marriage is turbulent, especially because of her fierce jealousy. The tensions are not lessened by Max's fury. When Grete one day forgets her bag in a store, it sets in motion a series of events that get the couple on a dangerous confrontation course and Max in the police spotlight.
